We look forward to welcoming our guests to Baltimore by hosting a Friday evening get-together at one of the finest locales in the city, which is also a very special place for us (engagement drinks on the deck!). All are welcome! We will provide appetizers and access to a private cash bar - not to mention a private deck on the Inner Harbor. Out of town guests are encouraged to take a cab from their hotel. BASILICA OF THE ASSUMPTION

Our Catholic wedding ceremony will be held in the very first cathedral built in the United States! Fact! Visit the church's website for lots of interesting information. The (air conditioned) ceremony should last about 30 to 45 minutes. Also referred to as the Baltimore Basilica, the church is located just about three blocks from the wedding venue. Guests staying at the hotel are encouraged to walk, though we admit it may be very warm in August - so don't be afraid to take a cab! In-town guests who will be driving may park in the garage attached to the Embassy Suites before the ceremony ($5 self parking) and walk to the church, or park in a garage nearest to the church at 15 West Franklin Street Baltimore, MD 21201 - one block north of the Basilica, on Franklin Street between Cathedral and Charles Streets. On the weekend, the charge is $4 for the day.

GRAND HISTORIC VENUE
225 NORTH CHARLES STREET
The reception is just 3 blocks from the church and connected to the hotel via indoor walkway, accessible through the 5th floor. The Grand Historic Venue also has an entrance on Charles Street. Cocktail hour and hors d'oeuvres begin at 4:30, with dinner and dancing immediately to follow. We have tried to minimize the time between ceremony and reception, but please be advised that the venue will not open doors until 4:25 PM. Use a few minutes of extra time to head back to your hotel room and/or grab a drink at the Embassy Suites bar.
The menu will feature a true Baltimore surf & turf - a filet mignon and crab cake duet plate. If you require a vegetarian meal, have shellfish allergies or other dietary concerns, please contact Christine via phone or email so that we may make arrangements to keep you happy and healthy!
Self-parking at the Embassy Suites is available for wedding guests (not staying overnight) at a rate of $5.
As noted, this is an adult-only reception. While we adore your children, we are looking forward to dancing the night away with their parents .... and we also suspect mom & dad may enjoy a night off. You didn't think that we would end the night at 9:30, did you? Early reception = more time to mingle afterwards in comfortable clothes. For those of you inclined to party on, we will be heading next door to Maisey's, where iPod playlists will make their grand entrance, racy lyrics and all.
